(A) Today began with an unwelcome surprise…
We’re not sure how, but the window of our rental car was shattered. Maybe the lawn mover threw a piece of gravel from the driveway. The car rental guy thinks it might have been a “cheeky teen”. But we’re kind of out in the country, so I don’t know how many cheeky teens are around. In any case, our plans for the day changed. We had to return to Dublin and switch cars. So, while we were there we explored a little bit of the city.
The guy sitting on the doorstep was playing the spoons, and he was good.
(E) As we were walking around, I made a comment about how everyone seemed better dressed than us, and when I saw all the feather boas, I joked to Mia that it looked like a Harry Styles concert, as people are known to go all out. Well, it got to the point that I looked it up, and turns out he’s playing in Dublin tonight and had been seen sneaking around town. That sent us on a (mostly satirical) hunt for Harry and Olivia Wilde, his girlfriend. We went through St Stephen’s Green, which was full of both pigeons and seagulls, and Mia and I took a selfie while we were trying to keep an eye out for Harry. After walking around Dublin for a little longer, we got into our car and tried to drive past Aviva Stadium, where the concert was taking place, but the road was closed off. We did see some girls getting ready to go and celebrating with a pre-Harry-Styles pint of beer, though.
