(A) Whew! After being awake all day yesterday and then spending a sleepless night at the Dublin airport, we started today with a flight from Dublin to London. That went pretty smoothly. But we flew into the Gatwick airport and we needed to pick up our rental car closer to Heathrow (since that’s where we’re going to drop it off). So we got to take a cab ride from one airport to another.
Once we had our car, we headed toward Wales. The highlight of the trip might have been crossing the Prince of Wales Bridge. I don’t mean to oversell it… I mean, you’ve probably been on longer or fancier bridges than this one. But it was just cool to be crossing from England into Wales.
We’re renting a house in South Wales, and it’s just lovely! Lots of hiking trails nearby, as well as a pub. There’s a big yard with seating and a fire pit. I think we’ll spend an evening or two out there. I’ll post some pictures of the house over the coming days. For now, enjoy a few from today’s road trip.
