(A) It’s good to have a plan, and it’s good to be ready to modify that plan. Let me give you an example. Our plan was to go to Le Cafe in Blackwood this morning. That meant driving over the bluffs and across the Chartist Bridge. When we got to Le Cafe, it was packed. We’re taking that as a sign that it’s good and we ought to go back. But this morning we didn’t want to wait, and so we walked across the road to the House of Cake Steampunk Cafe. It was small too, but not packed. Well, not when we got there. It filled up after we arrived.
On the menu were Eggy Bread (a.k.a. French Toast) and Cheese on Toast, among other things. I enjoyed the All Day Breakfast, the highlight of which were the beans on toast. I love things on toast.
After that, we walked up the High Street to the public library. There was a lively story time and sing-along going on for kids. We found a corner and read a bit. Then we walked to the movie theater to watch the new Elvis movie. The movie was great and the theater was cool. There were gold-colored curtains over the screen and red velvet seats. Pretty classy. The curtains opened, and after about 30 minutes of previews, they closed again. We were a little confused, but then the curtains opened again and the movie began. I don’t want to give anything away, but that Colonel Parker was a sheister.
Once back at the house, we did some laundry. That might not sound like fun, but it is something we’ve learned not to take for granted… especially having a dryer. And it’s nice to have fresh clothes on vacation.
At the moment, we’re enjoying some cheese, crackers, nuts, olives, and chips (I mean, crisps) while we watch Channel 4. 😎
