(A) There’s a cafe in town, just up the road from our rental house. Mia and I walked there this morning, and we enjoyed toast and scrambled eggs. The only other customers there were two old guys who didn’t seem too concerned with anything but their food. The cafe’s lunch menu looks good, so we may be back for that.
Then we all drove down to Annan, where there is a movie theater. We wanted to watch the new Minion movie and eat some popcorn, so that’s what we did. When that was over we felt like visiting another library. Google maps shows one in Annan, but when we walked there, it wasn’t open. I’m not sure it’s even still operating. We got out of there and drove to Dumfries, where there certainly is a functional library.
It’s called the Ewart Library, and it’s a lovely place. Dumfries appears to have had several champions of education and literacy over the last couple of centuries, and some of them were honored with busts and paintings in the library. It was a cool place.
Then we drove back to Penpont and our rental. Kim and I decided to take a walk. Along the way we said Hi to a few of the locals, all of whom are really enjoying the stretch of warm, sunny weather we’ve been having. The weather was nice and the scenery was fantastic.
