(A) Today was all about Anne of Green Gables! We explored the north/central part of the island and visited several sites associated with Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of the Anne stories.
(E) We started off the day at LM Montgomery Park, and then walked through the woods to find the house that Montgomery grew up in (now a tasteful gift shop). We followed that up with some Tim Horton’s, basically the Starbuck’s of Canada. We saw the church where LM Montgomery played organ, and walked through the cemetery she’s buried in and the Haunted Woods, which features in the Anne of Green Gables novels. Next we had lunch at Chez Yvonne’s Restaurant where Mia and I took a tasteful selfie and enjoyed salads and sweet chili fries. Next was the big event: seeing the Green Gables house! Of course, Mom and Dad took a picture in Lover’s Lane (and Mia photobombed). We finished the day off by visiting the Lake of Shining Waters and the Cavendish Coast.
