(A) There are two basic mindsets when it comes to travel. One involves planning every minute of one’s time in order to see and do everything, to squeeze the most out of one’s time away. The other involves letting go of schedules and deadlines, avoiding any sense of urgency or responsibility, and letting the wind carry you where it may.
Of course, there‘s a lot of room between those two extremes, which is where I usually find myself. I have yet to strike the perfect balance of activity and relaxation, but I keep trying. All I know is that we woke up to a rainy, chilly morning.
That wouldn’t normally stop us from getting out and doing things, but we figured that we’d done lots the last few days and that a day of laying low and looking out the window at the rain wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Nonetheless, we did venture out! First, we visited Samuel’s Coffee House for some lunch. Then we went to a public library in Kensington. Now we’re back at the house, relaxing by the fire. Rumor has it that a puzzle is being put together!
How‘s that for a balanced day?
